Student Nutrition Advising Center (SNAC)
Shantz Building Room 238.
The Shantz building is comprised of two buildings that are separated by a breezeway. SNAC is in the North Shantz building at the east end of the ground floor.

Walk-ins are held every Monday from 12:00-3:00pm.
*Walk-ins are typically limited to a maximum of 5-10 minutes and no appointment is necessary. For longer conversations, a scheduled appointment is recommended.
WHAT IS SNAC?
SNAC serves as a centralized location for nutritional sciences majors to interact with advising staff and peers. Additionally, SNAC is utilized to extend unique learning opportunities to students. It is supported in part by the program fee paid by Nutritional Sciences majors each semester.
Some of the opportunities that SNAC provides to students each year include:
- Advising Appointments and Walk-In Hours
- Club Meetings
- TA and Preceptor Office Hours
- Exam Review Sessions (Scheduled by instructors)
- Guest Lectures- Professionals are invited to speak to students about their profession or organization
- Information Sessions-Speakers are invited to share more information on many different topics throughout the year. Examples of Information Session topics include- on campus resources, graduate programs, Nutrition Study Abroad and many more
- Wellness and Social Activities- SNAC will occasionally host free activities such as yoga, group walks or mix & mingle events
SNAC SUPPORTS STUDENT SUCCESS
SNAC is a collaborative work environment where students are invited to study and work on projects/assignments individually and in groups.
Many resources are available to students in SNAC including:
- 2 Computers - always available for student use on a first come, first served basis during open SNAC hours
- Printing and Scanning - All NSC majors are allowed to print up to 100 copies (25 of which can be color) per semester in SNAC
- Text Books -Required texts for many required Nutrition classes are available
- Office Supplies - Tape, markers, mini-white boards, poster boards, etc. are available
- Educational Models -Food, anatomical and molecular models
- Community Education Materials - Can be checked out by Nutrition majors when needed to deliver education in the community. Email email@example.com if you are interested in reserving materials
- Resource Materials - Current Scientific Journals and reference text
- Water dispenser and occasional snacks - Complimentary to students
*With the exception of water and snacks (when available), students are not permitted to take these materials from SNAC but can use them during open SNAC hours.
SNAC RESERVATIONS AND ROOM CAPACITY
Space is limited to 20-23 students during standard business hours, and up to 40 during special events. SNAC typically has room so please drop by during standard business hours if you would like to study.

- Use of SNAC for studying, group meetings, printing, and events is reserved for Nutritional Sciences majors.
- SNAC is open for student use Monday-Friday; however, advisors are only available to meet with students during posted walk-in hours and scheduled appointments. If you have an urgent advising issue, please email email@example.com
- Students who are not in the Nutritional Sciences major are welcome in SNAC when they need to meet with a Nutrition advisor and either have scheduled an appointment in advance, or are meeting with an advisor during posted walk-in hours. To schedule an appointment, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Noise in SNAC is to be kept at a conversational volume. There are times when the Center is more active and other times when people are primarily using it for quiet activities. Please be respectful of fellow occupants and keep your volume down when talking on a cell phone or to others.
