Assistant/Associate Professor - (TE)
We are seeking an outstanding individual with expertise in nutritional sciences and bio-behavioral research, broadly defined, to fill a 9-month (academic year), tenured/tenure-eligible position (80% research, 20% instruction) in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly productive, innovative, and committed faculty working to advance the science of nutrition. The Department of Nutritional Sciences currently has 12 full-time faculty members. The Department also supports 11 MS- and PhD-level Lecturers/Assistant Professors of Practice. The graduate program is interdisciplinary and trains Master’s and doctoral students, and provides research and teaching assistantships during early program years. Support includes a USDA National Needs Fellows Training grant.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Strengthen and maintain a research program focused on one or more of several priority areas in the emerging field of bio-behavioral health.
• Teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate level and contribute to mentoring students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds
• Participate in outreach and contribute to departmental, college, and university service.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
• PhD, MD, or equivalent
• A publication record demonstrating high-impact research and a strong and sustainable funding record, appropriate to level of appointment
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching
• Demonstrated excellence in the field of bio-behavioral research, including strong track record of extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications
• Evidence of successful graduate student and junior faculty mentoring is expected at the Associate level
