PSM ADMISSION POLICIES & TIMELINES

This 30-credit online Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition (non thesis) provides knowledge and skills in the area of clinical nutrition in addition to PLUS courses to enhance professional skills.

Created to provide students with training in advanced nutritional sciences as well as professional skill development through the completion of PLUS courses, the PSM in Applied Nutrition will prepare graduates to successfully compete for jobs in the nutrition workforce. The PSM program is responsive to the challenges faced by today's nutrition professionals and provides a path to advancement outside of the traditional, research-intensive MS degree.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition program applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • BS or BA in Nutrition from an accredited institution.
  • If undergraduate degree is in a field other than nutrition, coursework in physiology, biochemistry, and a 400 (senior) level course in nutrition and disease is required.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA overall in undergraduate degree
  • Additionally, because the program is delivered exclusively online, the following student characteristics are essential to successfully completing the program:
    • Self-directed, independent learner
    • Able to manage time effectively
    • Effective written and verbal communication
    • Able to utilize a wide range of resources effectively

Domestic Applicants:

  • Summer: March 1

International Applicants*:

  • Fall: February 1
  • Spring: August 1
  • Summer: February 1

*International applicants may be considered for conditional admission to this program at the department's discretion.
