Restoring Balance: A Physical Activity Intervention for Native Cancer Survivors, Preliminary Analysis

Native Americans are diagnosed with cancer at more advanced stages compared to non-Hispanic Whites and have poorer survival. Physical activity has been shown to improve survivorship and reduce recurrence for several cancers in non-Native populations. However, despite substantial disparities in survivorship outcomes among Native Americans, culturally tailored evidence-based physical activity programs have not been developed for any tribal nation. This presentation will provide a summary of the development of a culturally tailored physical activity intervention among Native cancer survivors and preliminary results from its implementation.
