About:

Austin Webb graduated from Washington State University – Spokane in 2011 with a Masters Degree in Dietetics.  Since that time, he has worked in the acute care setting, covering a variety of areas inclusive of the Medical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Neuro ICU, and Pediatric ICU amongst other units.  His passion, however, was in treating the burn population, working as the burn dietitian at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.  During this time, Austin trained residents on the essentials of burn nutrition and collaborated with a fellow medical student on research pertaining to volume-based feeding in the burn population (research was presented at the 2018 American Burn Association (ABA) Conference in Chicago, IL).  With a focus on nutrition support, Austin also completed the Advanced Practice Residency (class of 2020) through the Dietitians in Nutrition Support (DNS) Dietetic Practice Group through which Austin was heavily involved as a volunteer for six years.  Austin recently became a Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) Trainer through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), completing his first training at the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (CAND) Conference in Long Beach, CA in April of 2023.

After 11 years working in acute-care, Austin is making the transition to academia, where he hopes to inspire the next generation of Dietitians.  In past stints as an Adjunct Instructor (University of Central Florida – 2013; Santa Monica College – 2018), Austin discovered a passion for teaching that he now hopes to continue for many years.

Austin recently moved to Tucson, AZ from San Diego, CA (spending the 9 years prior in Los Angeles, CA).  Austin is originally from Sammamish, WA (Seattle-area) where his parents still reside.
